A contraindication is a reason that massage might not be suitable for your dog.
If your dog is unwell in anyway before a treatment, it is best to contact your therapist and rearrange the treatment.
If your dogs health changes, such as they develop a new condition, it is always best to speak with your therapist to ensure there is nothing that contraindicates massage, and to enable your therapist to discuss with your vet if needed.
If your dog is unwell, vomiting or has diarrhoea.
Has a fever
Has an infection
Is suffering clinical shock
Inflammation
Has an open wound, or bruising
Broken bones, or acute injury
Cancer
Contagious skin conditions
Heart conditions
Dehydration or heat stroke
Massage should not be carried out within two hours of eating or after strenuous exercise.
